The Passat and Tiguan models will be distributed in Iran by Mammut Khodro. It will begin its sales in Iran from August this year. This marks the presence of the brand in Iran after 17 years. They would initially focus on the Tehran region. Returning in Iran will increase the brand’s global presence. Project manager for the Iranian market assured that they are trying to bring their latest models to Iran. The Iranian market is changing on the basis of customer’s expectations. Rethinking is needed in the industry with customers focusing more on factors like – safety, comfort and environmental friendliness. This is causing a shift towards modern vehicles with better mobility solutions. VW had withdrawn from Iran back in 2000. It is estimated that there will be 3 million car registrations in the year.
