An owner of a 2005 Mercedes wanted less Mercedes and more Maybach in his Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG. So he got in touch with the Bulgarian Art Studio Vilner.
The London-based owner specifically asked for remaking the car to give the look and feel of the new G650 Maybach Landaulet. There will be an availability of only 99 Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulets for sale this year. Those priced around $550,000, thus upgrading an aging G55 is something worth considering.
To start with the car received Vilner’s chrome signature up front. It had been colored matte black and Vilner’s signature existed at the back too.
It comprises of a supercharged V-8 engine having a capacity of 5.5L which delivers 476 horsepower.
Throughout the boxy SUV, we notice a chess pattern and the addition of leather which seems rich and chocolaty.
The seats have black trim on the sides with fine soft Cocoa Brown-Orange leather seats. Piano lacquer can be found on the top of the steering wheel. The rest of the wheel has plenty of thick leather.
Morello Red seat belts replaced the old ones to give a better visual contrast. Even the roof liner has a soft padding underneath. Although it isn’t exactly like a Maybach on the street, the upgrade by Vilner does come close.
